News

Magic Kingdom

  • Tickets will be available for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Party dates are September 2, 8, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 29 and 30; Oct. 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30 and 31. In addition, the costuming guidelines include that Guests ages 14 and older are strongly discouraged from wearing layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body as they may be subject to additional security screening. Additionally, costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
  • Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be held on select nights in November and December and for 2016, is currently scheduled to take place on the following dates: November 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 18, 27 and 29; December 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18 and 22
  • Guests will soon have the opportunity to enjoy Disney After Hours, a special, ticketed event on select nights throughout April and May. The event will enable participants shorter than typical wait time for popular attractions and character greetings. Ice cream treats and bottled beverages are included during the three hour event. Disney After Hours will take place on April 14, 21 and 28; May 5, 8, 12 and 19. A separate event ticket is required for Disney After Hours. Pricing is $149 plus tax. Epcot

  • Guests will now have the option to use their own smartphone during Agent P's World Showcase Adventure. Guests may still opt to receive a F.O.N.E. or Field Operative Notification Equipment as well.


Disney's Animal Kingdom

  • In celebration The Jungle Book, artisans will carve a sand sculpture inspired by the film at the Oasis. The sand sculpture will be on display for Guests to view through April 24.
  • At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, beginning April 22, each night, there will be two evening parties that will occur. The Discovery Island Carnivale on Discovery Island invites Guests into a dance party experience that features Latin drumming and worldly rhythms. The Carnivale will celebrate the magic of nature and will include Spirited Islanders, who are dancers and stilt walkers; The Viva Gaia band; and Danza del Arpa, a Paraguayan harpist. Over in the Africa section, in Harambe, Guests can enjoy a lively street party courtesy of the Harambe Wildlife Parti. During the Parti, Guests will come in contact with a number of entertainment acts including the Karibu Sisters who will sing and dance through Harambe; Muziki, a music man who joins the Harambe drum circle; and The Harambe Meetkats, who are a soccer team by day, but turn into the Harambe Village Acrobats at night.


Disney Springs


  • One of the new restaurants slated for the upcoming Town Center is called D-Luxe Burger. This new dining establishment that will be opening in May is going to offer to Guests gourmet burgers and unique shakes.



Rumors


  • The Inside Out characters should be meeting Guests beginning April 3.

News

Disney's Hollywood Studios

  • Reservations for Club Villain have been extended into April and May. Shows will be hosted every Saturday with two shows performed nightly at 5:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. Reservations are now available and can be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE.


Disney's Animal Kingdom

  • Details are rolling in about the new nighttime safaris at Kilimanjaro Safaris. It not a new attraction, just an extension of the operating hours. There won’t be a set time for the transition from day to night, instead it will depend on when the sun sets and the night experience could last between 4 and 5 hours each evening. The ride path will be adjusted and the trucks will make longer stops, but Guests will be asked to refrain from using flash photography. Other animal experiences, like the Wilderness Explorers, Maharajah Jungle Trek, Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, will continue to close at sunset.


General Walt Disney World News

  • Disney’s Night of Joy 2016 will take place for first time ever at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on September 9–10. This year’s event includes the following top performers and groups:
    • Friday, Sept. 9 – MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Francesca Battistelli, Crowder, Matthew West, Stars Go Dim, Zealand Worship
    • Saturday, Sept. 10 – newsboys, for King & Country, Young & Free, Switchfoot, Red, Thousand Foot Krutch, Tim Timmons

  • An interactive BB8 meet and greet could be coming.

Magic Kingdom

  • For those heading to the Magic Kingdom for Easter, here is what you can expect:

o    Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny meet Guests beginning March 14 and meeting every day through March 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Town Square Courtyard.
o    The DJ Dance Party in Tomorrowland will be extended from noon-11 p.m. from March 20- April 2. (The DJ only will take place from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., characters will join from 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.)
o    On March 26 and 27, there will be an Easter pre-parade featuring the Azalea Trail Maids prior to the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. The Azalea Trail Maids will also be meeting in the Town Square throughout the day on March 27.
o    From March 28-31, the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will be presented twice daily at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Epcot

  • Beginning in early April, at the Epcot Character Spot, meet Joy and Sadness from Inside Out.

Disney's Hollywood Studios

  • Beginning March 21, join Minnie and friends dressed in their garden party best in a springtime celebration at Hollywood & Vine called Minnie’s Springtime Dine.

General Walt Disney World News

  • As part of a test, beginning March 15, Guests parking at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot will have the option of paying for a premium parking space closer to the park entrance. The charge for the premium parking is $15 above the regular $20 charge.
  • The 2016 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will be expanded to three days this year with the new Disney Wine & Dine 10K that will debut on November 5. In addition, there will be a challenge race called Lumiere’s Two Course Challenge requiring runners to complete both the 10K and the half-marathon. The Wine and Dine Half Marathon will become a morning race and will take place on November 6. The Finish Line Party  will occur from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. that evening. The 5K will now take place on November 4.

Disney Resorts

  • Guests of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be able to visit the Oasis Pool and Oasis Bar & Grill beginning Thursday, March 17.
  • ‘Ohana Dinner will now be open to Guests from 3:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. daily.
