One of my favorite things to snag while I'm at Walt Disney World is ice cream. I'm already a nut for the stuff to begin with, but add the atmosphere of the parks and I cannot get enough.
The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, which is located on Main Street USA directly across from Casey's Corner Hot Dogs, had always been sort of my go-to spot for the creamy deliciousness, (unless I had a hankering for a good old Mickey bar). The shop specializes in what you think it would...ice cream.
I've been a fan of both the ice cream cookie sandwich (chocolate chip cookies with cookies and cream ice cream please) and the Plaza ice cream sundae, which is vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and a waffle bowl. However, I have a new favorite and it is a must-get every time now.
You see, I am a BIG fan of peanut butter on ice cream. I've been doing it for years before I knew it was a thing other people did too. (It dates back to my childhood years.) So, when I found out that The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor started offering a sundae called The All-American, which features both chocolate and vanilla ice cream (yes), hot fudge (yes), melted peanut butter (yes), whipped cream (yes), and peanut butter and chocolate chips (yes!) I knew I had to try it. It was almost like this sundae was made for me. Even better, it was a mini-version of my favorite dish from Beaches and Cream, the No Way Jose! I mean how could it get any better?

Making my sundae! |
Let's just say, that from the first bite, I was in love. It was heavenly. It was the perfect spoonful of all the ingredients mixed together so expertly. You have the sweetness of the ice cream, mixed with the salty taste of peanut butter. It was perfect.
The good news is that they are perfectly sized, so I don't have to share if I don't want to...and I usually don't! However, if you are someone who would like to share one, there is plenty there to split between two of you.
While I'm on a Disney vacation, most of the time, I'll only get my favorite treats once in a trip. However, with this treat, I've been known to get it a couple of times and still want to go back for more!
What do you think? Does this sound like a treat you should stop for? Would you prefer something else from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor? Or, don't like ice cream so you tend to stop somewhere else for a great snack at the Magic Kingdom? Let me know in the comments or on the Facebook page!
