Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Dedication and What's New Around Walt Disney World

Well, since I went to Walt Disney World this past week, this post is a little delayed, but nonetheless, I thought I'd share it with you all anyway.  :)

Mike started the morning with an almost empty Main Street.  So gorgeous!!!

The morning then started with the dedication of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  All the dwarfs were there, as well as Snow White and Tom Staggs, Chairman of Disney Parks of Resorts.

Here is the video of the dedication, in case you missed it.  It was short and sweet!

Next, Disney held it's What's Happening Around Our World presentation.  During the presentation, they announced quite a few things.

First off was that Disney's Polynesian Resort would be renamed, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  They also announced that Trader Sam's Grog Grotto would be debuting and they released some concept art of the new lobby redesign.

Next, Disney announced some fun for Disney's Animal Kingdom.

First up was the announcement of Harambe Nights, a new hard ticketed event where guests can see a special theatrical showing in the Harambe Theater, featuring a choir, orchestra, dancers, and a live narrator.
After that, guests will be able to partake in a street party featuring live entertainment and food and beverage.

Finally, the nighttime spectacular that's coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom is going to be called Rivers of Light and will features water screens, lanterns, animal imagery and more.

In addition, Disney is still looking at a 2017 opening date for Avatarland.

Moving on to Disney Springs, the Landing portion will open in early 2015 and that is when Disney will rebrand Downtown Disney as Disney Springs.  The second half will debut in 2016.
