News


Magic Kingdom

• Swiss Family Treehouse will see a refurb from March 17th - 28th. 
• Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover will have a refurbishment from May 3rd - July 1st. 
• AstroOrbiter will be closed from May 3rd - Aug. 20th.
• The new Festival of Fantasy Parade debuts today.

Epcot

• Here is a brief video preview of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival:  

Disney's Hollywood Studios

• Rebel Rendezvous, a hard-ticketed, merchandise event will take place on May 15.  Guests attending will have the opportunity to buy special Star Wars merchandise, as well as other perks.

Downtown Disney

• The building that houses Pollo Campero, Bodie's All-American Burgers, and Babycakes NYC is closing.  The last day of operation for these three businesses is March 19.  Guests who enjoyed Babycakes will still be able to get some items at select Walt Disney World Resorts.  They include: 
• The Beach Club Marketplace at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
• The Boardwalk Bakery at Disney’s Boardwalk
• The Gardens Kiosk at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
• The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
• Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
• The End Zone at Disney’s All Star Sports Resort

Walt Disney World Resorts

• Watercraft rentals will no longer take place at Old Key West, Port Orleans Riverside, and Caribbean Beach Resort. 
• A new small table service location has opened up at Coronado Springs Resort.  Called Las Ventanas, the restaurant will serve guests breakfast from 7 am - 11 am and lunch from 11 am - 2 pm.

General Walt Disney World News

• Walt Disney World Annual Passholders should be receiving information shortly that they will be able to customize and order their MagicBands.  In addition, they should be able to have access to make FastPass+ reservations soon via the My Disney Experience app and website.  (They can make up to 7 days of reservations or if staying on property, the number of days staying, whichever is longer.)
• Disney will hold an inaugural Disney Fit Challenge, a competitive fitness event where competitors are challenged in speed, strength, skill, endurance, balance and power. The event will take place Sept. 26th - 28th.

Rumors

• A new nighttime spectacular could be on the way to the Magic Kingdom for 2015.  (Would coincide nicely with the new hub refurbishment.
