Walt Disney World News and Rumors 3/10/14 - 3/16/14

News and Rumors are gathered from various different sources. All rumors are rumors and are to be taken as such.

News

Magic Kingdom

  • Anna and Elsa from Frozen will be moving from Epcot to Princess Fairytale Hall starting on April 20th.  This will allow guests to be able to make FastPass+ reservations.  The sisters will only been meeting until early evening though.  Afterwards, other visiting Disney princesses will appear.
  • You all know how much I love the cake cups from Cheshire Cafe?  Well now there are two new ones I'm going to have to try.  Brand new options include the White Chocolate Rabbit and the Queen of Hearts Strawberry Shortcake.  I wonder how they'll compare to my Mad Hatter Mocha.  (Which appears to still be available along with the Cheshire Cupcake on a rotating basis...I hope!) Click to see my review of the Mad Hatter Mocha and the Cheshire Cupcake versions.

  • A brand new dessert party was introduced for Illuminations.  Called Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party, this new option that's available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 7:45 p.m. until 9:20 p.m. Current pricing is $49 for adults (ages 10 and up) and 29 for children (ages 3-9), and tax and gratuity are included.

Wishes dessert party or illuminations dessert party? Suggestions...

Unknown said...

For me that depends. If you are someone who likes to imbibe in an alcoholic beverage or two, then I think that the Illuminations one is a good option because, at least as of right now, it's all you can drink, as well as eat. I think that the food options are not as good as the Magic Kingdom one though. So, if you're more into food, then choose the Magic Kingdom one.

In addition, if you have kids, I would chose the Magic Kingdom version, because they cannot drink, but have to pay the same amount as an adult who can drink at the Illuminations version.

Finally, if you want an amazing view, I would hands down suggest the Illuminations one. The view from where the party takes place is just spectacular. One of the best views period. The Magic Kingdom one (currently...we'll see what happens with the hub refurb)seats guests at the Tomrrowland Terrace, which doesn't necessarily have the BEST view of the fireworks. It's a good view (and one of my favorites...I used to love sitting there before the dessert parties started) but it's off to the side, so it's not spectacular.

That's just my long-winded two cents about the whole thing. I think it really depends on your family and what you're wanting from the party.
