News and Rumors 1/17/11 - 1/23/11

Hi guys!!!   Well sorry for the delay this week.  I've had lots of things going on...really keeping myself busy with real life (Hey....who invited reality into the mix?!)  But here I am with the News and Rumors!!!

And for those of you that missed it, I was really busy last week with all the announcements that took place.  If you missed any of the blog posts, make sure to scroll down to read all the news that came with last week's media storm!

News

Magic Kingdom

  • The new changes for the New Fantasyland have officially been announced!  (For those who missed it in my previous post or who just want a recap.)  Under The Sea--Journey of the Little Mermaid and The Be Our Guest Restaurant, along with Gaston's Tavern, Enchanted Tales With Belle, and Bonjour! Village Gifts are all staying from the previously announced Fantasyland expansion.
  • In addition, Dumbo is still going to be moved and become a Dueling Dumbos attraction, with games and interactive experiences for guests to enjoy.  This area has been dubbed as Storybook Circus and will be themed, of course, around the Big Top.
  • New for the Fantasyland Expansion is going to be the Seven Dwarf Mine Train.    This experience will take guests on mixture of an indoor and outdoor roller coaster with trains that will sway back and forth, be accompanied by music from the film and will feature animated figures of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
  • However, with the addition of this new roller coaster, we'll be saying good bye to Snow White's Scary Adventure.  In it's place, the Princess Fairytale Hall will be constructed.  This area is going to be a royal court area where guests can greet princesses such as Cinderella, Aurora, Rapunzel, and Tiana, in addition to a few others.
  • Finally, Goofy will still be the host of a kiddie coaster in the Storybook Circus area, but the attraction will be renamed The Great Goofini and will fly high over circus fun.  The New Fantasyland is slated to open in phases starting in the Fall of 2012. If you want to read more, scroll down for my Fantasyland Blog post last week.
  • The rumors were indeed true.  Splash Mountain did indeed receive lap bars in this most recent refurb.

Disney's Hollywood Studios

  • Star Tours official opening grand opening date will be May 20th.

Rumors

  • Rumors are floating around that the Haunted Mansion may be seeing some potential upgrades inside the ride.  Upgrades may include changes to the Hitchhiking Ghosts (just upgrades, not a removal) and the potential to add an on-ride photo where your ghosts really do indeed follow you home.
  • With El Pirata Y El Perico being refurbed, I've seen that it may possibly be getting turned into a Pirates of the Caribbean themed restaurant, to open just in time with the 4th movie's premiere.
  • I reported previously that Tink would be making the move over to the Studios in Feb.  This appears to be no longer true.  Instead she will be found in Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival with her other fairy friends.  No word on where Tink will go once the Festival is over.  I've heard rumors that she may be going to the Studios then officially or she may possibly be staying in Epcot.
  • The Tron-o-rail wrap may have been the first time Disney decided to wrap a monorail, but I'm hearing it now may not be the last.  Once the Tron wrap is removed, we could see a new wrap promoting Cars 2.

The Disney Dream: Christening Cruise

I know I've been hitting you all hard the past few days, but so much great stuff has been coming out from Disney that I knew I had to talk about it all.  And today we saw the Christening of the Disney Dream.

So, I have to say, with all the coverage, I'm just a tad bit jealous!  I want to be on that ship so bad.  June simply cannot come soon enough.

But, since I cannot be on the ship over the next few days to find out all the wonderful things the ship has to offer myself, I am following along with as many ways that I can on the internet.  Of course, after today, it may be a few days before we get actual details of the ship, since once the ship sets sail, communication with the outside world typically goes away until you get back to port.

With all that being said, I wanted to give those of you who are excited about the Disney Dream links to find out who to follow.

Of course right now, Twitter is our friend.  Make sure you are following:  @insidethemagic, @loumongello, @jason_garcia, @mom_and_mouse@wdwtodaypodcast, @allearsdeb, @disneyfoodblog, @MPMark and @momspanelbernie

These are just a few of the MANY people you should be following who are taking the exciting cruise over the next few days.  Of course, I'm sure all these people will have plenty of info on all their respective sites when they return back from the cruise as well.

And with that being said, there is one more blog I think you should check out and that's a travel blog for the Chicago Sun Times.  Since no one from the St. Louis area seems to be on the Dream, Chicago is the next closest area, so I'm following her trip closely.  (Gotta represent that Midwest love!)

Can you tell I'm excited about this ship?!

And by the way, I do want to thank everyone who is able to report for all of us who are stuck at home (with a snow storm on the way here on tap for tomorrow, by the way).  You all may be killing me...but I know it's only gonna be a matter of time before I get to step foot myself on that beautiful ship.

Edit:  I wanted to post the official video of the Christening of the Disney Dream.  So without further adieu, here it is:

Let The Memories Begin: The Magic, The Memories, and You

Tonight we saw the world premiere of "The Magic, The Memories, and You"...the new castle show that is going to take place 20 minutes before the nightly fireworks spectacular Wishes.

This new show was designed specifically for the Let the Memories Begin campaign which is taking place this year.  For those who are unfamiliar, the campaign is specifically designed to celebrate the memories that people experience on their vacations with their family and friends.

This show is the centerpiece for the new celebration, having guest's memories displayed on the castle in photographic and video form, essentially making them the star of the show.

"The Magic, The Memories, and You" projection show is slated to last about 10 minutes and feature up to 500 Photopass photos taken throughout the day, plus photos that have been uploaded on Disney's website. A new song that was written for the celebration, called "Let the Memories Begin" plays during the show, in addition to scores from other famous Disney movies.

Personally, I thought the show was FABULOUS!!!  Granted, I've only been able to watch it via the Internet so far, but I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw, just from videos.  I loved the fact that songs from a variety of Disney movies were included in the show, not just songs from the very popular and recent movies.  And not to spoil things (though I will include a link to a video in case you haven't seen it and want to) but this show literally gave me chills a few times.

Now, I will admit, I was one who was a tad skeptical about this new Castle show when it was announced.  I thought it would be like this big slide show type experience...nothing really of substance, just different photos from people floating across the castle, almost like a screen saver.  I couldn't see how they could make this into a unique experience.

I couldn't be happier than to admit that I take all of my doubt back.  The show really did blow me away.  It blew all of my expectations out of the water.  I simply cannot wait to see this show in person finally and really get to experience it the way it was meant to be seen.

As I had previously mentioned before when this campaign was announced, I said that if it was something that was done before Wishes each night, it would be a nice enhancement.  I am proud to say that it is more than just a nice enhancement...it's an amazing enhancement.  Truly spectacular.

And while I still hold true to the fact that I think this celebration of "Let the Memories Begin" should be considered a smaller type celebration, I think that this castle show really helps to bring the celebration out of being just an ordinary campaign by plussing it up, taking it to the next level.

For those who may have missed the premiere last night, make sure you check out the video over at WDW News Today

Also, for those who care to see the press release from Disney about the event, here it is:

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – In a dramatic new projection show filled with special effects and magic, Cinderella Castle will transform into a shimmering canvas for images of Walt Disney World guests and the memories they made that day at Magic Kingdom.

In the nighttime spectacle, photos of guests captured that very day in the park will be projected larger-than-life among the spires and turrets of Cinderella Castle.  In similar fashion, guest images will be projected onto “it’s a small world” on select nights at Disneyland Park in California, beginning Jan. 27.

The ten-minute experience – called “The Magic, The Memories, and You!” – will dazzle park guests on both coasts in ways never before experienced, themed to beloved Disney stories and with playful animated sequences that seem to defy the architecture of the buildings.  The spectacle is scheduled most nights with up to two shows per night depending on theme park operating hours and other special ticketed events.

As many as 500 images shot that day will project onto the castle each night the show is presented, producers estimate.  Disney PhotoPass photographers will capture guests creating new memories as they “smile for the castle.”

“Disney parks create family vacation memories to last a lifetime,” said Meg Crofton, president of Walt Disney World Resort.  “What better canvas for those memories than Cinderella Castle, one of the most photographed icons in the world.”

After the sun goes down, 16 high-powered state-of-the-art projectors will bring the castle to life as that day’s photos (and videos taken from Disney’s “Let the Memories Begin” online hub) seem to dance about the famous facade, explained Alan Bruun, associate creative director, Walt Disney World Entertainment.

As classic Disney music weaves in and out of the new “Let the Memories Begin” theme song, turrets spin while the castle shimmers and magically transforms itself in playful and exciting ways to accompany the guests’ memories of fun, adventure and family experiences.

“The images dance to the music and culminate in a spectacular finale punctuated by animated and actual fireworks,” Bruun said.

As Disney Parks encourages families to “Let the Memories Begin,” guests have been celebrating their only-at-Disney memories by sharing their stories and by uploading photos and videos online at
DisneyParks.com/memories.

BY THE NUMBERS: ‘The Magic, The Memories, and You!’ Nighttime Spectacle
  • Height of Cinderella Castle: 189 feet
  • Number of shows: up to two per night (select evenings)
  • Length of each show: ten minutes (approx.)
  • Projectors: 16
  • Same-day guest photos per show: up to 500

So what did you think about the new Castle Show?  Did it live up to your expectations?  Was it better than you thought it would be?  Make sure to leave a comment to let us know!

The New Fantasyland Revisited

Update:  8/7/12:  The New Fantasyland officially has a Grand Opening date!  The Be Our Guest Restaurant, Under The Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid, Enchanted Tales With Belle, Ariel's Grotto, and Gaston's Tavern are opening on December 6, 2012.  Also expected to open by that date are the remainder of the attractions that will be found in Storybook Circus.  The Princess Fairytale Hall will open in 2013 and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will open in 2014.

Update 4/29/12:  A new timetable has been announced for the New Fantasyland project.  As of right now, the second phase of Storybook Circus,  including the second Dueling Dumbo with the indoor queue and Casey Jr. Splash and Soak Station are set to open this July.  The Be Our Guest Restaurant, Under The Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid, Enchanted Tales With Belle, Ariel's Grotto, and Gaston's Tavern  have a projected opening date of late 2012, right in time for the Holiday Season.  Finally, Disney is expecting to open up The Seven Dwarves Mine Train, as well as putting the remaining finishing touches on this new expansion in late 2014.

Today, after months of speculation, we are finally finding out what The New Fantasyland is going to officially entail.

When The New Fantasyland was announced, around 18 months ago, it was an exciting time.  After years of having the 20,000 Leagues closed and gone, Disney was finally going to build something new and innovative in that vacant spot.

When the announcement was first made, the most exciting things that were mentioned were the addition of The Little Mermaid attraction and The Be Our Guest Restaurant, both items were things that were sorely needed in this theme park.

Although, when the news of an expansion of Fantasyland first broke, there was a lot of concern that the New Fantasyland was going to revolve mainly around girly aspects...especially since the majority of the other enhancements announced involved meet and greets with princesses.  Gender neutral attractions were few and far between.

Apparently, even Disney had a few concerns because in August of last year, the news came out that they were looking at the plans and making changes, specifically with the Pixie Hollow area and the Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty meet and greet areas.

Which brings us back to today.  Tonight, we officially have word about what changes are taking place in the newest version of the land of Fantasy.

First things first, the Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction and the Be Our Guest Restaurant are still a go.  Both are still happening and are currently being built as we speak.  In addition to these, we have official word that guests will get to experience Enchanted Tales With Belle (a play and greet experience), Gaston's Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts in the Beauty and the Beast section.  These are things we knew about before, but it's nice to know that they are indeed coming as well and what they will officially be called.

Buy you want to know what's new, right?

Well, new to the expansion (and something that has been rumored for quite a while now) is the addition of The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  This experience will take guests on mixture of an indoor and outdoor roller coaster with trains that will sway back and forth, be accompanied by music from the film and will feature animated figures of Snow White and those lovable Dwarfs.

Personally, this experience is something that I'm super excited about.  The concept art looks gorgeous and I love the details that have come out so far.  I especially love the fact that the cars are going to move with and respond to the track, really be intuitive, much like Dinosaur does, but more than likely on a MUCH smaller scale.

I know I was one who was a little concerned about the fact that in the previous version of The New Fantasyland, there was really only 1 new attraction being built.  And while technically, this new attraction is merely a "switch" (more on why I say that in a minute) this experience is going to be a huge plussing of the area overall.  This roller coaster will be a major enhancement, and in my eyes, is a much better use of land then the previous play and greet areas that were originally announced.  (Though, had the Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty play and greet areas been built, I'm sure they would have been lovely too.)

Now, on to why this new Seven Dwarf Mine Train is considered by some to be a switch.  The rumors are indeed true...Snow White's Scary Adventure is going to be no more.  In it's place, the Princess Fairytale Hall will be built instead.  This area is going to be a royal court area where guests can greet princesses such as Cinderella, Aurora, Rapunzel, and Tiana, in addition to a few others, I'd presume.

While it's sad to see an original attraction go and it will be missed, this attraction just hasn't stood the test of time, one could say.  The effects were quite cheesy (no where near their Disneyland counterpart) and it also lost quite a bit of appeal when it saw it's refurb changing it up a bit to make it a little less scary.

And of course, the princesses will need a place to meet their fans, so I can understand why Disney would be choosing to remove Snow White's Scary Adventures and including this meet and greet area here.

As far as the Dueling Dumbo area, yes, that is indeed still coming too.  The area has been dubbed as Storybook Circus and guests will still be able to experience games and interactive surprises while waiting to take their ride with that flying pachyderm.

Barnstormer will also be seeing a change, but our lovable pal Goofy will still be a part of the action.  The theme will still revolve around the circus, like reported earlier but the attraction will now be called The Great Goofini, therefore fitting in with the Storybook Circus theme.

In all, I think today's announcement is a good one.  I think it's a step in the right direction for Fantasyland and I am now extremely anxious for when the New Fantasyland opens up and am super excited for Fall 2012, when Disney is saying the New Fantasyland is expected to be done.

But enough about me...what do you all think?  Is this a good update to the plans?  Would you have rather have seen the Old New Fantasyland plans come to fruition?  Or would you have rather have seen something different all together?  Make sure to let me know in the comments section!

News and Rumors 1/10/11 - 1/16/11

News

Magic Kingdom
  • News broke out this week that Enchanted Tiki Room:  Under New Management had a small fire break out in the attic area.  Rumors I'm hearing say that the Iago 1 bird (the one who is the main bird for the show) had damage that makes him, shall I say, unable to fly any longer.  I would expect the Tiki Room to be closed for at least a month, possibly longer, while Disney takes a look at what steps they will take for this attraction.  (Please bring back the original show!!! I miss it! Just my two cents)
  • All the rumors appear to be certain on the new "The Magic, The Memories, and You!" projection show.  It is scheduled to start 20 minutes before the fireworks (right now, it's scheduled for 7:40 pm.)  The show will indeed last 10 minutes and feature up to 500 Photopass photos taken throughout the day and the new song that was written for the celebration, called "Let the Memories Begin" will play during the show.  More details about this celebration may come out this week, as there is supposed to be a media event that is being held.

Disney's Hollywood Studios

  • The Pixar Pals Countdown To Fun debuted this Sunday.  The parade debuted to mixed reviews...but I have heard that we may possibly be waiting on a few floats from DCA's Pixar Play Parade to appear, but only time will tell.
Disney's Animal Kingdom
  • The Wild Africa Trek, a new tour, has officially started this week.  For a detailed look at the tour and more info, make sure to check out Zannaland, who got to take a tour this week.

General WDW News

  • Cirque du Soleil will be down for a refurb from Jan. 16th - 24th.
  • New banners are appearing in the parks promoting the new "Let The Memories Begin".
  • Typhoon Lagoon has closed for it's annual refurbishment.  It will reopen March 27th.

Rumors
  • I'm hearing conflicting rumors.  One source says that the Haunted Mansion will be getting Fastpass again....but then on the other hand, another source says that it will not be getting it.  Again, only time will tell.
  • Fantasyland Forest now has an official opening date of 2013 for most experiences.  Also, Disney has removed the concept art, so we can assume that it has officially changed.  But I'm also hearing that we might not have a Snow White Train Ride going in, like it's been rumored.  Really it's all very much up in the air at the moment.  Keep reading the blog because it's being rumored that tomorrow, during a press event, we may be getting more info on what will be happening with the Fantasyland Expansion.
  • Tinkerbell's meet and greet at DHS is set to start Feb. 15th in the rear of the Magic of Disney Animation Queue.
  • Been hearing rumors that Oswald may be coming to the parks in the form of getting his own SpectroMagic float when Spectro returns.  Hearing that the float would supposedly go from black to white.
News and Rumors are gathered from various different sources. All rumors are rumors and are to be taken as such.

A Look At Dining Menus for Little Ones

A few weeks ago, I was watching my niece here at my house for a few days in a row while my brother and sister in law were visiting Nashville.  So, of course, that meant I was in charge of all aspects of my niece's care...which included feeding her.

Now, I did often fed her traditional "kid friendly" foods...mac and cheese, pizza, applesauce and cereal...but my niece also likes to eat some stranger choices.  She'll eat olives, she liked celery, and the girl will even eat lemons.

All this got me to thinking about the food options for kids that are available at Walt Disney World.

Now I've been known to eat a kids meal at WDW occasionally.  A lot of times kids meals offer me more than an adult meal does.  It's often just the right size for my stomach--leaving room for a snack a little later in the day, I don't drink soda--but do drink milk--which is included in kids meals, and I like the prices too--often they are a few dollars cheaper, which my pocket book enjoys.

So with all that being said, I took a look at multiple different quick service restaurant menus.  (Thanks to AllEars.net, I must add.)  After studying them, there were a few things I liked and a few things I'd like to see some improvement on.

As I'd mentioned above, after watching my niece, I realized that not all kids are always in love with the standard burger, chicken nuggets, macaroni and pizza.  And by looking at the menus, in a lot of these restaurants, that's all they offer.

Yes, it's great that they have these options for those picky eaters...a lot of kids are picky ...even well into their teens.  But to assume that all kids are, is not fair.  And I really appreciate when a Disney Quick Service Restaurant offers something a little different.

A couple of places that offer things that are a little more unconventional are Flame Tree BBQ-offering a chicken drumstick.  (Yes, still chicken, but it's a grilled chicken and it's got a little seasoning on it.  This is one of my favorite meals to get!)  ABC Commissary does offer a Ham and Cheese Wrap, in addition to the traditional chicken nuggets and cheeseburger.  Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe has a mixed green salad with chicken as an option.

It also seems like kids get some different choices at some of the World Showcase pavilions.  At the Yakitori House, they offer Teriyaki chicken with veggies and rice.  And at the new La Cantina de San Angel, they offer an empanada de queso (cheese empanada...which yes is only cheese, but still, something different for kids to try that's close to something they may already like.)

It's so great to see a good number of restaurants trying to switch it up and offer more to families.  Because every family is different..they are not all cookie cutter and don't always want cookie cutter meals.

But there are some places that could use some improvements.  First I would like to see more offerings for kids (well and adults too possibly, though I think they are getting a tad better with adult meals...what with things like the new designer Angus burgers they are creating and new designer hot dogs...still burgers and hot dogs, but at least they are different and a little more unique.)

My big issue is that many times on kids meal menus there are only 2 options.  (Occasionally some do have 3...but in other cases some restaurants only offer 1).  Really?  Only 2 options on average?!  That's really not a whole heck of a lot.  I know the goal is to keep costs down, but would it hurt so much to add at least 1 more option...and better yet, one more unique item for those kids who may not be such picky eaters.

One such restaurant that only has 1 offering is Toy Story Pizza Planet.  If you eat here with your kids, the only offering is a cheese pizza.  Now this is just fine for me, I only eat cheese myself...but why is there not another option for those kids who like to eat something with meat, like pepperoni?  Why only have cheese be the single option?

The other larger issue I have with kids meal menus at WDW is when a restaurant is known for selling more unique items for adults and then offers the standard fare for kids.  One noticeable restaurant is Yak and Yeti at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  For those who aren't familiar, this is a restaurant that offers Asian dishes for adults...but their kid's menu...cheeseburger and chicken bites!  Why?!  For guests who choose to eat at the sit down restaurant portion, the kid's menu offers some Asian items...vegetable lo mein or an egg roll.  If these things can be offered inside, why are we not offering something along the same lines to guests with kids who choose to eat at the counter service restaurant?

Another place that totally removes it's particular delicacies from the menu for kids is the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco at Epcot.  Here the only options are a hamburger and chicken tenders.  Now, while this restaurant doesn't necessarily appeal to me and I'd guess probably wouldn't appeal to many kids...why not offer 1 additional meal for kids...a smaller version of something that is already served to adults?  That way, the restaurant doesn't have to make up a totally new dish and potentially waste a whole lot, but it still offers something unique for kids (and maybe even adults) who want to try Moroccan food.

One restaurant that does serve more traditional foods but still has a more unique menu for adults is Columbia Harbor House in the Magic Kingdom.  Here, the kids menu consists only of chicken nuggets, a mixed green salad with chicken, mac and cheese, and a PJ&J...but this restaurant is know for it's seafood (in addition to chicken).  Where is the seafood option?  I'd love to see something like fish sticks or fish nuggets or something here.  Or better yet, give kids the option of a child size portion of fried shrimp.  I loved fried shrimp as a kid...and I'm sure others do too!  Once again, an easy addition to the menu because it's something that's already offered on the adult version.

There is one restaurant that seems to do it's kids options perfectly and that is Sunshine Seasons at Epcot.  At this eatery, options include not only the traditional mac and cheese and PB&J, but also sweet and sour chicken, a mini sub sandwich, and a chicken leg with mashed potatoes.   This restaurant is perfect to me because it does offer unique options along with items for those who are more picky, PLUS it offers more than just 2 choices...matter of fact, this restaurant offers at least 5!

So, see, it can be done.  And it's definitely something I would like to see them continue with in the future.  They simply need to make the changes, most of them would be easy to do.

What do you think about the kid's meal offerings?  Do you like them?  Do you think they need more options?  Do you think they need more unique options?  Or is the standard fare really the way to go?  Make sure to let me know in the comments section!

News and Rumors 1/3/11 - 1/9/11

Hello everyone!!!  Glad to see you again this week!  And if we thought the last few weeks have been quiet, it's been nothing compared to this week!  This week, it was so quiet, I almost didn't have an update!  But I couldn't stay away...so, luckily I found a few things to talk about!  :)

News

  • Starting today, a crane should be onsite for the removal of the Cinderella Castle Dreamlights.  The crane is expected to be there until Jan. 17th.
  • There will be temporary lane closures at the Tomorrowland Speedway during the next few months due to Fantasyland construction.

Rumors

  • The Let The Memories Begin castle projection show is expected to be a pre-fireworks show and is expected to last 10 minutes.  It will use the song "Let The Memories Begin" and it will include guest photos taken with PhotoPass.  It's expected to begin once the castle lights are removed.

A "Dream" Is A Wish Your Heart Makes

As I've mentioned before previously in posts, I'm a tad bit excited about the Disney Dream.  My hubby and I are taking our first cruise together on the Dream this June for the Be Our Guest Podcast Cruise.  So I've been following all the news coming out about the ship anxiously...soaking up every piece of info I can.

And this week, some of the best news since the ship was announced came out.  Our ship (yep...totally claiming it like it's mine...lol!) is finally here! The ship landed in Port Canaveral on Tuesday and it was a sight to see!

For those that missed the live coverage, like I did since I was sleeping, you can check out a video taken by Rick Howard over at Travel With Rick.  He got a great video of the ship pulling into port.  Hearing the people screaming and cheering for this ship got me so stoked.

If you don't want to watch that video, make sure you check out the recap video of the ship coming into port over at the Disney Parks Blog.

I am so anxious to hear as things continue to progress the next few weeks as the ship prepares for the first official Cruise!  And you can bet I'll be following closely!

As for me, this week I've officially started my workout regimen.  A girl's gotta get in shape for this cruise...and I have every desire to make myself not look like a flabby mess.  The goal is to loose that pesky 15 pounds everyone wants to loose.  I have 5 months to do it...I think it's doable.  But, I've never been the best at sticking with workout regimens....so we'll see what happens.  Maybe having a real goal to reach for will really help me in succeeding.  I'm on Day 5....and right now my legs are SUPER SORE!!!  So, I guess it's working.

Finally this week, and speaking about working out, I want to wish those running in the WDW Half and Full (and the Goofy) Marathon this weekend, best of luck to you all.  I so wish I could have made it down there this weekend, but alas, I didn't win that lottery jackpot this week, so, it's a no go for me.  :(

All that training (I hope you've been training) has hopefully paid off and your time is now here!  You all are gonna rock this race weekend.  And hey, looks like the weather is gonna be a big improvement over last year!!!  So, that's a plus for you all!

So best of luck to those who are running and even those who are chEARing!  This weekend is a blast, I know it's gonna create lasting memories for all of you.  It certainly did for me...even as a non-runner!
