Christmas in the Parks: Disney's Animal Kingdom Edition

Poor Disney's Animal Kingdom.  It gets left out of so much during the Holiday Season.  Unfortunately, there just isn't a whole lot of merriment to be had here.

Part of the reason why I think this is the case is because the park often closes at 5:00 in the winter/off season, so there's no reason to have light displays and a lot of festivities going on.

The one thing I do enjoy is the Tree that they have at the Animal Kingdom.  Now as I've mentioned each tree at the different parks, is themed to fit that park's overall nature.

And at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Nature is where it's at.  The trees and decor here are straight out of the jungle!

The main activity that takes place here for the holidays is Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade.  Now, while I've not seen this parade in person (I'm just not a parade lover) this is a little parade that features the whimsy and uniqueness that you can find in the Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade, the main difference being that the floats now have a Christmas theme to them. (And a fun Holiday parade tune.)  Make sure not to miss Minnie's float...it smells like hot chocolate!

Since there are no "lighted" offerings at this park, seeing as how it's rarely open in the evening, my suggestion is to go to one of the other parks in the evening after visiting the Animal Kingdom to experience that particular portion of the Holidays.

While the Animal Kingdom isn't one of my favorite parks to go to experience specific Holiday festivities, (although, technically, it isn't one of my favorite parks any time of the year) it is still nice to see the park decked out in the festiveness that it does offer for the season.

My best advice is to try make sure to make a stop at this park during the Season, even if it is for a short while, to see how WILD they get about their decor.  It really is a jungle out there!

I do think their tree is one of my favorite in the World. But there's just not enough to do there to make it a good stop in the holiday time!

I love Animal Kingdom, and I think the atmosphere is enough to keep me coming back, even if it doesn't have the flashiest rides! Jingle Jungle parade is spectacular - we juggled our schedule on our last January trip to make sure that we caught it before it switched back to regular programming.
